Preventative Care

Our goal is to nurture happy, healthy pets. Our preventative program relies on the cooperation between pet-owner, pet, and our veterinarians to communicate and work as a team. To maintain essential pet health, we recommend a combination of routine check-ups, balanced nutrition, regular vaccinations, and early disease detection.

Preventing pet illness is the duty of a responsible pet owner, and we strongly recommend adopting this attitude toward veterinary care. We recommend annual examinations for all pets and semi-annual exams for our seniors over the age of 7. At each visit your pet will receive a full physical examination including auscultation of the heart and lungs to help detect disease processes you may not have known were emerging. We also recommend annual blood, fecal, and urine screenings to check for heartworms, intestinal parasites, emerging systemic or metabolic diseases such as kidney disease, liver disease, diabetes, Cushings Disease, Addison's Disease, urinary tract infections and thyroid diseases. When coupled with a wellness exam, we offer these internal body screenings at a discounted rate.
