Veterinarians

Dr. Lindsay Baker
Dr. Lindsay Baker was born and raised in Tifton, GA. Like many young girls, she dreamed of being a veterinarian when she was little but gradually moved away from the idea. In college, when trying to settle on a decision of how she would incorporate her love of animals and science together she circled back to the idea of Veterinary Medicine. She began working at a local clinic and it sealed the deal. Dr. Baker attended Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College and the University of South Alabama for undergrad with a major in Biology and then attended Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine graduating in 2012. Pursuing this passion has taken her from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to Las Vegas, Nevada, to Jacksonville, Florida, and now finally to Woodstock, Georgia.
Dr. Baker is also a Captain in the Veterinary Corps of the Army Reserves where she trains and leads soldiers in food defense and medical care to military working dogs. Through the Army, Dr. Baker realized her love of leadership which ultimately led her to the Animal Hospital of West Woodstock, buying the practice from Dr. Cohen in August of 2022. She provides all aspects of veterinary care but has a special interest in ultrasound and dentistry.
Outside of work and Army life, Dr. Baker loves traveling, gardening, cooking, hiking, and spending time with her husband Jack, and two sons Ethan and Logan.

Dr. Gregg Cohen
At a young age Dr. Cohen knew he wanted to either be a veterinarian or a pro golfer. He decided to go the medical route and volunteered at animal hospitals during high school. In 1985, he received his undergraduate degree from Auburn University and then his degree in veterinary medicine from the University of Florida in 1989. He was the original founder of the Animal Hospital of West Woodstock in 1992. He sold the practice to Dr. Baker in 2022 but still sees patients three days a week.
He and his wife Karen have three children (Courtney, Ty, and Jessie) and two grandchildren (Ava and Delilah). They have one dog named Mocha. She is a loving, but energetic dog that sometimes drives them crazy. Their cat, "Boo", makes it clear that she is the boss.
In his spare time, he is usually with his family at a sporting event or on the golf course.

Dr. Alexandra Cox
Dr. Cox's love for animals started early, growing up on a small farm just south of Atlanta, most memorably a bottle-fed calf named Frosty. Those early experiences, paired with a growing curiosity for science, created a natural path to veterinary medicine. Dr. Cox attended the University of Georgia for both her undergraduate studies and veterinary degree, graduating for the UGA College of Veterinary Medicine in 2018.
Before joining Animal Hospital of West Woodstock, Dr. Cox worked in small-animal practices in Chattanooga and later Atlanta, where she spent the past five years. These experiences helped her discover her passion for internal medicine and improving each patient's quality of life. She especially loves getting to know her clients, understanding what matters most to them, and working together to support the human-animal bond.
Oustide the hospital, Dr. Cox enjoys spending time with her two dogs, Bishop the Boxer and Dixon the German Wirehour Pointer, cheereing on UGA football, and exploring the outdoors. She is also an avid reader and can almost always be found with a book nearby. Her favorite role outside of veterinary medicine is being "Aunt Alex" to her young nephew, who brings endless joy, curiosity, and laughter to her life.
